Cold Shot Chillers 2 Ton model ACWC-24-Q water chillers are made in the USA and are among the most durable and dependable chillers on the market. We offer 2 Ton chillers in air-cooled or water-cooled configurations. Stationary, portable, and reverse flow designs are available to accommodate virtually any heat removal application.
This unit features a hermetic scroll compressor and R410A refrigerant for effective and reliable cooling. The chiller is controlled and monitored through an onboard PLC. Temperature control setting is performed on an easy to read and operate LED temperature controller. Safeties are built into the chiller to protect the unit from adverse conditions associated with normal wear and tear. All alerts and notifications are monitored through the PLC to display an error code should one occur.
The term “portable” refers to the basic configuration of the system, not to its mobility. Most portable chiller units will never be moved once installed. The term refers to any chiller system that contains the necessary components such as the refrigeration circuit, the reservoir, and the pump or pumps, within a single footprint.

The term “stationary” refers to any chiller that does not include a pump or a tank. The main component is a stand-alone chiller unit that must be connected by piping to a pump and a separate reservoir to function properly.
Our 2 Ton model ACWC-25-QST typically have separate controls for the chiller and the pump, with an electrical connection for each component. The controls should ideally be wired together, to prevent the chiller from cooling until the circulating pump is operating.

The term “reverse flow” refers to a chiller that includes the refrigeration circuit, evaporator, and pump. The chiller is usually located near the customer’s external tank. Many of these applications are to chill an external tank to a predetermined temperature setting. The fluid is then pumped out to the customer’s process to remove heat from equipment. The warmed fluid is then pumped back to the external tank where the heat is exchanged by the chiller.

Our 2 Ton model WCWC-24-Q is a portable water-cooled water chiller capable of removing up to 24,000 BTU/Hr. with a 50°F leaving fluid temperature with a condensing water temperature of 85°F.
The chiller puts off relatively little heat and is commonly located indoors near the process it is removing heat from. The condensing water can be from a building chilled water supply, pond, lake, or geothermal.
A common and readily available R-410A refrigerant is used due to its non-depleting ozone characteristics. We use a single stage hermetic scroll compressor to provide a wide range of temperature settings to accommodate precise heat removal from your process.

Cold Shot Chillers reverse flow chillers do not include tanks due to their use of an open loop cooling system. For applications of these types, an external tank is used to provide positive head pressure of water or heat transfer fluid to the system’s pump. The fluid is pumped from the external tank to the chiller and back to the tank. The heat from the fluid is transferred through the chiller’s evaporator, though the refrigerant circuit and to the water condensing heat evaporator.
