Cold Shot Chillers model ACWC-18-Q is a 1.5 Ton air-cooled water chiller manufactured is the USA. These are considered robust and are among the most durable and dependable chillers on the market. We offer 1.5 Ton chillers in air-cooled or water-cooled configurations. We offer this size chiller in several flow design such as stationary, portable, and reverse flow to accommodate virtually any heat removal application.
The term “portable” refers to the basic configuration of the system, not to its mobility. The term refers to any chiller system that contains the necessary components such as the refrigeration circuit, the reservoir, and the pump, within the same framework.
This unit features a single stage hermetic scroll compressor which utilizes R410A refrigerant. We use all non-ferrous material on all fluid contact surfaces. The evaporator is stainless steel copper brazed, the centrifugal pump is stainless, and the plumbing is copper. The chiller weighs approximately 550 lbs. with dimensions of 42” L x 32 ½” W x 51 ½” H.
Controls: The unit comes standard with an electronic programmed temperature controller with constant (set point & process) temperature readout.
Refrigeration Components: Efficient scroll compressors, balanced port expansion valves, sight glass/moisture indicators, pump down valves, filter drier, fan cycling head pressure controls.

The term “stationary” refers to any chiller that does not include a pump or a tank. The buyer will provide an external tank and pump. Some field plumbing is required between the chiller and the tank.
A stationary chiller has a single power drop location. The controls to the pump are located near the external tank. In some cases, there is an interface between the chiller and the remote pump to prevent the pump from recirculating fluid when not in cooling mode.

A “reverse flow” portable chiller includes a pump but does not include a tank. The pump is housed within the chiller frame and includes controls and related control components to power and control the pump from the chiller panel. The water or heat transfer fluid provides a positive head pressure to the pump which is used to recirculate fluid from the external tank, through the chiller, and back out to the tank.

Our model WCWC-18-E relies on incoming condensing water to revoke heat from the chiller. A single stage hermetic scroll compressor is used to provide up to 18,000 BTU/Hr. of cooling capacity. The chiller system uses an environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant. The chiller includes a well insulated 25-gallon stainless steel tank with a stainless-steel copper brazed evaporator. All piping is 1” diameter copper. The chiller has a dry weight of approximately 350 lbs. The dimensions of the chiller are 30” L x 34” W x 45” H.

Cold Shot Chillers model WCWC-18-ERF has a “reverse flow” design. In most cases the chiller is located indoors close coupled to the tank. Some field plumbing is required to connect the chiller to the tank. A flow switch is used to ensure there is proper flow coming through the chiller evaporator to exchange the heat correctly. The leaving fluid can be water, or a glycol solution of a given concentration to ensure the possibility of freezing.
The condensing water can be as high as 85F, which is suitable to remove heat from your process. The higher the condensing water temperature the less efficient the heat removal will be. Likewise, the cooler the incoming condensing water temperature the more efficient the chiller will be.
