Cold Shot Chillers six-stage air-cooled water chillers are made in the USA and built to meet or exceed industry standards. Our industrial grade chillers are considered the most durable and dependable chillers on the market. We configure our 80-Ton chillers to meet a variety of flow designs for process cooling applications for breweries, metal finishing to plastic injection, blow mold and extrusion, and everything in between. We offer air-cooled and water-cooled versions in portable, stationary, reverse flow designs.
Each chiller includes a control package to manage the staging of the compressors to handle a wide heat load range. The onboard temperature controls ensure the chiller delivers constant leaving fluid temperatures during operation. Centrifugal pumps are supplied to provide virtually any flow and pressure that might be required to meet your site requirements. Safeties are built into the design to protect the chiller against any adverse conditions and provide codes to identify operation condition of the chiller.
Our model ACWC-960-GC is a six-stage “Portable” air-cooled water chiller system. This size chiller is sometimes referred as a central chiller as it is commonly used to remove heat from multiple areas within a facility.
The chiller includes a massive 625-gallon tank to hold your heat exchange fluid of treated water or some blend of glycol up to 50% concentration. The large capacity tank makes it possible to receive high temperature fluid coming back from your process without creating a drastic temperature rise in the tank. This is critical when maintaining a constant leaving fluid temperature. To ensure chiller efficiency two centrifugal pumps are used. One pump provides a recirculating circuit for the chiller. And a pump is used for the process, sized to match the flow and pressure need for your application.
The six-stage hermetic scroll compressors are programmed to stage on and off to maintain a consistent temperature setting while removing ample heat removal from your process or processes. The chiller uses an R410 refrigerant for effective and reliable cooling. Dual evaporators constructed of copper brazed stainless-steel plates with flow and temperature safeties protect against fluid freezing.
This unit will provide approximately 960,000 BTU/HR with 50°F leaving chill water temperature and 95°F ambient conditions. This is the closest thing to plug and play as it gets. The unit weighs approximately 4,600 lbs. with dimensions of 247” L x 88 ¼” W x 73” H.
Controls: This chiller comes standard with an electronic programmed temperature controller with constant (set point & process) readout to provide diagnostics and precise temperature. Fully factory tested.

The six-stage air-cooled “Stationary” water chiller system from Cold Shot is ruggedly constructed and easy to install. Our model ACWC-960-GC-ST includes dual evaporators to efficiently remove heat from your external storage tank. Field plumbing and wiring are required to connect the external tank and pump to the chiller.
A common installation has a single pump recirculating fluid from the tank to the chiller and back to the tank. A flow safety switch and temperature sensor are used to maintain a constant temperature setting while providing a safety to the chiller in the event flow is interrupted or suspended. Additional pumps are typically connected to this tank to provide flow to certain areas in the facility and provide some level of redundancy.
Each system includes six reliable and energy efficient hermetic scroll compressors with environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant designed for year-round use.

Cold Shot Chillers “Reverse Flow” model ACWC-960-GC-RF chillers are designed specifically for an open circuit process where an external fluid central tank is required. Like a close loop chiller system, a reverse flow design will require a holding tank to be cooled and used to circulate the fluid to a process. It is typically used to gravity feed water into the chiller’s stainless-steel centrifugal pump. The pump sends the externally sourced water through the chiller strainer and evaporator before sending it back to the tank/trough or process. Many tanks used on a reverse flow design come with a water make up valve to ensure fluid is always present in the tank. Standard non coated or e-coated microchannel condenser coils are used.

Our 80 Ton portable water-cooled water chiller is a relatively quiet system and is typically installed indoors. These self-contained water-cooled systems provide 100% cooling capacity with a leaving fluid temperature of 50°F using an 85°F incoming condensing water temperature. The condensing water source can be from a cooling tower, geothermal or from a building supplied chiller water supply. Water-cooled chillers allow the refrigeration system to operate at lower head pressure, making them more efficient.
Water-cooled chillers recirculate water to cool the refrigerant in a stainless-steel copper brazed fluid condenser with head pressure control valve.
