Cold Shot Chillers’ two-stage air-cooled water chillers are made in the USA and built for durability. We offer 70-Ton chillers in several flow designs for process cooling in injection molding, tool and die cutting, and laser systems. Units come in stationary air-cooled and liquid-cooled versions without a pump or tank, or as portable systems with a robust pump and insulated reservoir. Options include reverse flow and continuous flow open loop.
This five-stage “Portable” 70 ton air-cooled chiller, often called a central cooling system, includes a water pump and tank for closed-loop applications. It features dual hermetic scroll compressors and R410A refrigerant for reliable chilling. The copper-brazed stainless-steel plate evaporator has flow and temperature safeties to prevent freezing. This model provides about 840,000 BTU/HR at 50°F leaving water and 95°F ambient. The unit weighs roughly 4,500 lbs. and measures 247” L x 88” W x 73” H.
The two-stage 70 ton air-cooled “Stationary” water chiller systems from Cold Shot is ruggedly constructed and easy to install. It typically comes with separate controls for the chiller and the pump(s), with an electrical connection to each component. The use of a single or dual pump can be designed to provide cooling for a wide variety of applications. This unit works in conjunction with a holding fluid tank and can be remotely installed for convenience. They are designed for either indoor or outdoor installation to meet each customer’s needs. Each system is factory tested, pre-piped, prewired and includes reliable and energy efficient hermetic scroll compressors with environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant designed for year round use.

Designed for open circuit systems using an external tank, the reverse flow setup cools and circulates water through the chiller evaporator and back to the tank. It is ideal for gravity-fed water processes and includes non-coated or e-coated microchannel condenser coils.
Cold Shot Chillers 70 Ton model WCWC-840-E water-cooled liquid chiller is designed to bring efficient and superior performance to all types of industrial applications. This machine can be used as a central chiller for indoor or outdoor mounting. These self-contained water-cooled systems are made to accommodate a process cooling requirement. Water-cooled chillers allow the refrigeration system to operate at lower head pressure, making them more efficient. Arrangements available with a remote pump and tank.
Water-cooled chillers recirculate water to cool the refrigerant in the brazed plated fluid condenser. This chiller includes and efficient water-cooled liquid condenser, high efficiency brazed plate stainless-steel copper brazed. The refrigerant and cooling water from a cooling water source do not come in direct contact with each other, these flow in different pathways. These units are usually installed indoors. System capacity is the approximate 840,000 BTU/hr. based on a leaving fluid temperature of 50°F with a condenser water temperature of 85°F. The 70 Ton portable water-cooled chiller weighs approximately 1,300 lbs. and has dimensions of 98” L x 55” W x 88” H.
The Cold Shot Chillers 70 Ton reverse flow water-cooled water chiller is well designed footprint with a PLC controlled and self-diagnostics, WIFI/LAN/LTE connectivity for predictive maintenance. A 70 Ton model WCWC-840-E-RF water-cooled fluid chiller provides 840,000 BTU/Hr. of cooling capacity with 50°F leaving fluid temperature with 85°F incoming condensing water temperature.
Water-cooled chillers are designed to dissipate process heat into a cooling tower or large water body. These units are used in many applications and can provide a constant performance. Liquid cooled chillers range in size and are typically compact and designed to reside indoors protected from outdoor ambient conditions. While water cooled chillers can operate more efficient, it still requires an additional cooling tower system that will require additional installation and maintenance.
