Cold Shot Chillers’ two-stage 40 ton air cooled water chillers are made in the USA and built for industrial process cooling. We offer portable, stationary, and reverse flow designs. Stationary and water-cooled chiller models do not include a pump or tank. Portable models come fully equipped with controls, pump(s), and holding reservoir. All models are built to deliver reliable, long-term performance.
40 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Portable)
This portable 40 ton air cooled chiller includes dual hermetic scroll compressors, R410A refrigerant, and a stainless steel copper-brazed plate evaporator. The system includes internal pump and tank for closed-loop cooling, with safeties for flow and temperature to prevent freezing. Delivers ~360,000 BTU/hr at 50°F LWT and 95°F ambient. Remote condenser option available.

40 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller (Stationary)
Cold Shot’s two-stage stationary air-cooled chiller systems feature separate controls for the chiller and pump(s), each with its own electrical connection. Single or dual pump configurations are available based on process needs. An external holding tank is piped to the unit on-site. Designed for indoor or outdoor installation, each system includes energy-efficient hermetic scroll compressors with R-410A refrigerant for reliable, year-round cooling.

40 Ton Air-Cooled Chiller (Reverse Flow)
Cold Shot reverse flow chillers do not include a holding tank due to their use of an open loop cooling system. For applications of these chillers, an external reservoir on your site is typically used to gravity feed water into the system’s fluid pump. The pump sends the externally sourced water through the chiller evaporator and filter before sending it back to the tank/trough or process. Standard non coated or e-coated microchannel condenser coils.

The 40 ton model WCWC-480-E is a compact, self-contained water-cooled chiller built for industrial applications. These systems are custom-configured and support single or dual pump setups. Water-cooled chiller designs operate at lower head pressure, offering greater efficiency and consistent performance.
This unit uses a brazed plate stainless steel heat exchanger and an efficient water-cooled condenser. Refrigerant and cooling water travel through separate paths, preventing cross-contamination. These water-cooled chillers are typically installed indoors.

The 40 Ton reverse flow water-cooled chiller from Cold Shot features a compact footprint, PLC controls with self-diagnostics, and WiFi/LAN/LTE connectivity for predictive maintenance. Model WCWC-480-E-RF delivers 480,000 BTU/hr cooling at 50°F leaving fluid temperature with 85°F incoming condensing water.
Water-cooled chillers transfer process heat to tower water or another external water source. They offer steady performance, compact size, and are typically installed indoors. While more efficient than air-cooled chillers, they require a cooling tower, which adds installation and maintenance needs.
The unit measures 90” L x 50” W x 72” H and weighs approximately 1100 lbs.
