3 Ton Water Chillers Made in the USA

Cold Shot Chillers’ 3-ton water chillers are made in the USA and are known for their durability and reliability. Available in air-cooled or water-cooled configurations, they offer a range of leaving fluid temperatures from 20°F to 70°F, making them suitable for nearly any heat load. Flow designs, including stationary, portable, and reverse flow, are offered to meet facility needs.

3 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Portable)

The 3-ton air-cooled model ACWC-36-Q includes a single-stage hermetic scroll compressor. A non-ozone-depleting refrigerant is used. R410A refrigerant is an environmentally friendly gas to provide effective and reliable cooling.

The term “portable” means the chiller includes the refrigeration and hydronic components all within the same footprint of the chiller. This is the closest thing to “plug and play” as it gets. Simply provide power and plumbing to tie your new chiller into your process. Casters are available upon request if you need mobility.

The approximate unit weight is 571 lbs. (dry weight) with dimensions of 42” L x 32 ½” W x 52 ½” H.

3 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Stationary)

A “stationary” air-cooled chiller lacks a pump or tank, relying on an external pump and tank to deliver 2.5 to 3 GPM per ton for proper heat removal. These chillers are typically placed outdoors due to the heat they release into the atmosphere.

A 3-ton ACWC-36-QST chiller usually has separate controls for the chiller and pump(s), each with its own electrical connection. We recommend wiring the controls together to avoid the chiller entering cooling mode without the pump circulating fluid through the evaporator.

This 3-ton chiller uses a single-stage hermetic scroll compressor, the simplest and most cost-effective option, running at one speed. It uses R410A refrigerant, an environmentally friendly option common in residential and commercial settings.

3 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Reverse Flow)

The 3-ton model ACWC-36-QRF reverse flow portable chiller lacks an internal tank and is typically placed near an external tank to maintain positive head pressure, eliminating the need for pump priming.

It features a 3 HP hermetic scroll compressor, stainless steel copper-brazed evaporator, and stainless-steel centrifugal pump. The returning chilled fluid can either go back to the tank or be teed off to the process before returning.

3 Ton Water-cooled Units (Portable)

The WCWC-36-E provides efficient indoor heat removal with low noise and reduced heat rejection into the atmosphere. It consumes less energy, potentially lowering costs.

This chiller relies on a condensing water source (geothermal, cooling tower, or chilled water) to remove heat. A hermetically sealed compressor and stainless-steel copper brazed evaporator chill a 25-gallon insulated stainless steel tank. All fluid contact surfaces are non-ferrous for a clean, closed-loop system.

Weighing 420 lbs., it has a compact footprint of 41” L x 29” W x 53” H.

3 Ton Water-cooled Chillers (Reverse Flow)

The WCWC-36-ERF reverse flow chiller includes a centrifugal pump designed for a wide flow and temperature range. It requires two external water sources: one tank to chill the process fluid and another (such as a cooling tower or geothermal source) to remove heat from the stainless-steel copper brazed condenser. It maintains optimum cooling capacity even with condensing water temperatures up to 85°F.

Commonly used in ingredient mixing and agricultural applications, these chillers help maintain a consistent water temperature.
