20 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Portable)

The ACWC-240-E is a self-contained 20 ton air-cooled water chiller with an internal pump, tank, evaporator, and refrigeration circuit. In the chiller industry, “portable” describes this packaged design, even when the unit remains in one place after installation.

The unit uses a hermetic scroll compressor and stainless steel, copper-brazed plate evaporator. It can supply process fluid at temperatures down to 20°F when configured with the correct water-glycol mixture.

The ACWC-240-E weighs about 2,300 lbs. and measures 88 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 70 inches high.

20 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Stationary)

The ACWC-240-E-ST stationary chiller includes the refrigeration circuit, condenser, and evaporator but does not include an internal pump or tank. It connects to an external tank or process loop through field-installed plumbing. The system can use water or a water-glycol mixture with up to 50% glycol.

The chiller and external pump typically have separate controls and power connections. The controls should be wired so fluid begins circulating before the chiller starts cooling.

The unit uses a hermetically sealed scroll compressor and a stainless steel, copper-brazed plate evaporator. It weighs about 1,000 lbs. and measures 89 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 46.5 inches high.

20 Ton Air-cooled Chiller (Reverse Flow)

The ACWC-240-E-RF reverse-flow chiller includes a refrigeration circuit and centrifugal pump but does not have an internal tank. It connects to an external tank that holds the process fluid. The chiller should be installed near the tank to maintain positive inlet pressure and keep the pump primed.

The unit uses a hermetically sealed scroll compressor and a stainless steel, copper-brazed plate evaporator. It weighs about 2,300 lbs. and measures 88 inches long, 40 inches wide, and 70 inches high.

20 Ton Water-cooled Units (Portable)

The WCWC-240-E is a packaged water-cooled chiller with an internal pump, evaporator, and insulated 80-gallon stainless steel tank. Its fluid circuit also includes nonferrous copper piping and fittings.

The unit uses tandem hermetically sealed scroll compressors that provide two stages of cooling. Its water-cooled condenser rejects process heat through a separate water source, such as a cooling tower, geothermal loop, or building chilled-water system. Condenser-water temperatures can reach 85°F.

The chiller weighs about 1,100 lbs. dry and 1,766 lbs. when filled. It measures 64 inches long, 42 inches wide, and 53 inches high.

20 Ton Water-cooled Chillers (Reverse Flow)

The WCWC-240-E-RF reverse-flow chiller includes a pump but does not have an internal tank. It draws process fluid from an external tank and circulates it through the evaporator.

Heat moves from the process fluid into the refrigerant circuit. The water-cooled condenser then transfers that heat to a separate condenser-water loop, such as a cooling tower or building water system.

The unit weighs about 1,000 lbs. and measures 64 inches long, 42 inches wide, and 55.5 inches high.
